About Me

I am currently a 5th-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University. My research focuses on peelable heat seal technology for conventional and sustainable flexible packaging materials. My research work has been recognized with teh Sonoco Graduate Assistant in Sustainability from Clemson FRESH and the Wade Stackhouse Fellowship from the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences. Over the course of my graduate program I have undertaken internships at Dow and ProAmpac, leading projects in commissioning laboratory equipment, competitor material analysis and characterization, and multilayer structure development for new market exploration. I aim to drive innovations in the sustainability of flexible packaging through research and development at leading industry companies after graduation.

Outside of academia I am an outdoors and travel enthusiast. I run, bike, ski, and snowboard at any available opportunity and strive to experience and understand every culture that I encounter. These personal passions have, in part, inspired my work in packaging through a desire to create a more sustainable society for future generations.
