I was raised in the upstate of South Carolina by a working class family and was the first in the family to graduate from a 4-year university when I received by B.S. in Packaging Science from Clemson University in 2014.

After graduating from Clemson, I briefly worked in the industry before pursuing my childhood dreams of living at the base of a ski mountain. I spent two and a half years climbing mountains and sliding down them in one of the most beautiful places on earth, Avon, Colorado. 

After two great winters and three phenomenal summers, I decided it was time to pursue my adulthood dreams and return to school. I moved back to Clemson and started working under Dr. Duncan Darby of the Clemson University Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences Department. I am currently a Ph.D. student in Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences focusing on heat sealing of packaging films.
